To replace the waterproof membrane you’ll have to
- Remove the old membrane using a putty knife
- Clean any dirt and grime off the same area that was just removed from with some rubbing alcohol and allow to dry
- Apply an adhesive to one side of the new waterproof membrane, make sure you’re stretching out all wrinkles. Too much air in between will cause bubbles.
- Apply only enough pressure with your fingertips when smoothing out bubbles to get them down, not so hard as oiling yourself up.
- Lay it onto your work boot ensuring there are no gaps where water could intrude
